چکیده

The “head” part of surfactant molecules consist of a polar or ionic group. The “tail” of many surfactants consist of a single hydrocarbon chain whereas that of some other surfactants, e.g., phospholipids, are made of two hydrocarbon chains both of which are connected to the same head. In contrast, gemini surfactants2–5, consist of two single-chain surfactants whose heads are connected by a “spacer” chain and, hence, these “double-headed” surfactants are sometimes also referred to as “dimeric surfactants” (see fig.1).

Conditions for and characteristics of nonaqueous micellar solutions and microemulsions with ionic liquids

Research on nonaqueous microemulsions containing ionic liquids as polar and/or apolar phase, respectively, is growing at a fast rate. One key property of ionic liquids that highlights their potential and their diversification compared to water is their wide liquid temperature range. In this emerging-area review article we survey recent developments in the field of nonaqueous micellar solutions ...

Effect of tocopherol on Pluronic microemulsions: turbidity studies and Dynamic light scattering and dynamic surface tension measurements

The development and design of the biocompatible and biodegradable thermodynamically stable micellar and microemulsion transparent dispersions to reduce the free and unbounded drugs concentration in the blood is a basic challenge in field of drug efficacy and bioavailability of drugs. In the current work, solubilization capacity of the drug (Tocopherol), oil (Ethyl Butyrate), and oil+drug (1:1 m...

Microemulsion HPLC

502 What is MELC? Microemulsions are stable, isotropically clear solutions consisting of an oil (such as octane) and water stabilized by a surfactant and co-surfactant. To form such a mixture the interfacial tension between the oil and water has to be decreased by the addition of both a surfactant and a cosurfactant. Sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) is a common and widely used surfactant.1,2 Mediu...

The experimental study of reverse micellar phase in AOT/ Heptane/ (Water or aqueous) as nano template

In this paper electrical conductivity measurements and optical investigations takes place in AOT/ heptane/ (water or aqueous) systems. The water in oil system prepared with adding water in 50% by weight of AOT/ heptane solution.  In other systems instead of water, aqueous solutions of 1) zinc acetate and water 2) Potassium Hydroxide and water were used. In each phase, the trend of the electrica...

Tadalafil Transdermal Drug Delivery Using Microemulsion Formulation in Laboratory Model

Background and purpose: Tadalafil has gained wide clinical acceptance in treatment of erectile dysfunction due to its long treatment window and lower potential for visual impairment. Transdermal drug delivery prevents systemic elimination, drug-drug and food-drug interactions, and reduces side effects by reducing the dose of the drug. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of microemu...
